Information / Download  LUMOS Broschure  LUMOS Flyer  www.projekt-lumos.de Locations - Radio Coverage - Network click for zoomLUMOS - Aircraft-supported Traffic Monitoring System Seven partners from the industrial and research sectors have developed an innovative procedure called LUMOS which captures images of the traffic situation on the streets from an aircraft and makes these available for use in real time on the ground. The system combines commercial components such as infrared sensorics and stabilising platforms with completely new software tools for onboard data processing, for transmission of the image data to the ground and for short-term prognosis of the traffic situation. IQ wireless was responsible for the following tasks during this project: transmission link radio transmission link design of the radio transmission link testing, assemblage, commissioning, Befliegung, system integration hardware design and supply of communication multiplexer SW development for the communication multiplexer constructive development for the communication multiplexer implementation and supply of a Network Management System (NMS) design and supply of special interfaces for the communication multiplexer image preprocessing operative collaboration Three locations were chosen after optimising the transmission between the different receiving locations, on the one hand, and options for the radio relay links on the other: Frohnau, Schäferberg and WISTA.
